Picture day for all Damascus Soccer Club teams are as follows.  Coaches, choose the date and location that works best for your team.  For all Recreational League teams:
September 18th at Rockwell Elementary School and September 25th at Damascus Regional Park

For the DSC Academy:
September 25th at Goshen Elementary School

Passback Reminder!
When your team gets team pictures taken, remember that Picture Day is Passback Day. DSC collects gently used soccer gear (jerseys, shorts, shoes, cleats, socks, gloves, etc) for Passback, the national program that recycles our old gear so that others can enjoy the Beautiful Sport. Through Passback, DSC has sent thousands of pieces of usable gear to soccer programs all over the United States and all over the world, most recently including Afghanistan and Iraq.  Clean out those closets so others can play, and look for our collection bins next to the photographers.

Our application to become a member of the league has been approved! At our next DSC board meeting, George Amoah will be giving a presentation on the league.  We will soon form an organizing committee to handle administration, marketing and evaluating potential coaches.  DSC members are encouraged to attend the board meeting on September 14th (time and location to be determined) to see George’s presentation and get more info about Super Y.

What is the Super-Y League?
Founded in 1999, the Super Y-League is dedicated to the progression of future professional players. Averaging 700 teams since 2004, the Super Y-League has steered the course for development of elite clubs, players, and coaches. Affiliated with US Soccer, the Super Y-League ODP Program has opened countless doors for players to be identified for U.S. National Team Programs. The Super Y-League contains the youth academies of Major League Soccer clubs, USL PRO clubs, Premier Development League and W-League clubs. The league also serves clubs looking to develop the game from the ground up. Top youth academies such as the Chicago Magic, Mass Premier Soccer and TSF Academy have been members of the league for several seasons. Skills Training for the Fall 2010 season is about to begin!

Who: Every DSC Player (Travel and Recreational players will train together)
Where: Ovid Hazen Wells Park, Skylark Drive
What: We are offering training in Goalkeeping, Finishing (scoring goals!) and Speed, Agility & Quickness (SAQ).
When:

• Goalkeeping is Monday and Friday evening.  Older keepers, U14 and older, will start at 5:00, younger keepers, U11-U13, will start at 6:00. The first session is Friday, September 10th.
• Finishing school will be on Fridays, same time for the age groups.
• SAQ training will start Wednesday, September 1st. Older groups will start at 5:30, younger groups at 6:30.

Please bear in mind that as it starts getting darker earlier, we will adjust the start times or shorten the sessions.
